FAQs

All you need to know before your appointment

I scheduled my first appointment.  What do I need to do do prepare?

I am super excited to work with you on your wellness goals!  Please consider arriving 5-10 minutes early for your appointment to use the restroom and fill out paperwork.  There is a comfortable waiting area inside the office for you to relax in prior to your appointment.

You will get the most out of your session if you do not utilize drugs or alcohol prior to your appointment.  Should you arrive noticeably hungover or intoxicated you may be denied your session and liable for the full cost of the appointment.

Where is the office located?

The office is located at 6121 Lakeside Dr, a 2 story brick professional building on the corner of Lakeside & Ridgeview in Reno.  The building features and ample parking lot (accessible from either street), a quiet atmosphere, and restrooms conveniently located outside Suite 135.

How can I take the Reiki 1 class?

For clients who are new to me AND who are new to reiki, I require that you have at least 1 reiki session from me or a practitioner I have trained with in the past.  **You should know what reiki feels like before you learn how to do it!

There is an attunement process, most simply explained as the traditional ceremony where reiki master passes on information to reiki student.  Because it opens up your energy, there is a period of time referred to as "the cleanse" where the student acclimates to the new, higher vibration and it can be a time of increased emotion.

I have done Reiki 1, can I take your Reiki 2 or Master level classes?

Absolutely!  I typically encourage a 3 month period to acclimate to your Reiki 1, and a 6 month period to acclimate to Reiki 2 before moving forward to the next level.  I understand how hard it is to take a process this slowly; it is the perfect opportunity to work together in laying a strong foundation for your reiki practice.  If you trained under a different master teacher, I am still happy to have you in my class series.  I like to schedule a meeting so we can discuss your philosophies, knowledge base and goals so I can best support the next stage of your reiki education!

I am coming in for massage but I am afraid it will really hurt.  What if it is too intense for me?

This is a super common thing for people to be nervous about, mostly because I am passionate about working to help people with their pain....and sometimes, for SOME people, the techniques that we need to use for the fastest results are pretty uncomfortable.  This does NOT have to be your session.  Every session is customized to what you need that day.  If we usually do deep, therapeutic work but you need an hour of recovery instead we can do it!  Your session whether is is deep tissue, relaxation or energy work will benefit your system and I will applaud whatever self-care you think is right for you that day!

How does your pricing work?

I charge a flat rate fee and encourage people not to add any gratuity.  Now, for some people this feels really uncomfortable but I like this system because it shifts massage therapy and reiki from a space of spa-like indulgence (which is fabulous in its own right) to being more in line with seeing a professional to support your health and wellness, like a doctor, chiropractor, physical therapist etc.   I also hope that it supports you being able to come in for more consistent sessions!

**There is a $10 price increase in Jan 2026
