About

Whitney Tierney

I am a busy, married mom of 3 young kids.  As you can imagine, so much of my life experience has come from parenting these little ones and navigating the never-ending journey towards "finding balance".

Fortunately I have been gathering wellness tools for decades.  I am a Reiki Master Teacher and have been practicing Reiki since 2002 (trained by Kim Roubo, Reiki Master Teacher).  I have a deep appreciation of the way Reiki calms the autonomic nervous system, thus supporting your body's natural self-healing systems.  I teach both private and group Reiki classes to help people achieve this result in their daily lives.  I really enjoy guiding individuals on the hunt for clarity in their energy work practice, on both personal and professional levels, so they can integrate all the tools they have accumulated on their journey so far in a way that is useful for them.  It is a lifelong practice that is definitely worth dedicating some time to!

I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2010 and focused most of my training on pain management techniques.  I am passionate about working with clients experiencing chronic and acute pain.  Frequently I say, "If we treat our body like an amusement park, sometimes the rides break."...one of the hardest parts of maturing is realizing and committing to all those repairs!  Since we must maintain more than just our physical being, I have grown into also honoring the therapeutic benefits of relaxation massage for the mind, body and spirit and especially enjoy incorporating Reiki into these sessions for a truly centering experience.

Beyond the physical repairs we have to do for our bodies using external treatments and therapies, we so often find that we have neglected our nutrition mindfulness, mental health, and soul wellness!  I earned my Bachelor's degree with focus on Psychology and Nutrition Sciences, from the University of Nevada Reno in 2020 and became a certified Wellness Coach that same year to educate myself on how to best support people who are looking to nurture these aspects of self.  I am a lifelong learner, and am constantly adding new gems to my practice- in 2022 I became trained in Dynamic Body Balancing technique (which integrates energy work with cranial sacral balancing and fascial unwinding).  And at the end of 2024, I began a 4 year program studying Homeopathy to see mind, body, spirit integrative healing in a different light and hopefully provide more avenues for care for my clients!
